The Power of Corn

Corn waste is now going from waste to fuel in Germany. One German energy company is now using waste from corn products to help power their communities as well as minimize the amount of waste that goes unused for other purposes. The corn waist that is used during this process are the parts of the corn plant that are not edible that would normally be thrown away. The German scientists currently working on this project have created a process for turning this waist into fuel that takes half as long as a normal process doing so.

The project has been successful but currently can only power one home, but plan o extending their project in the future. This waist into fuel process would not only utilize the waste that we produce but if mastered would also give many places the chance to produce their own power, and would bring them much closer to self-sufficiency.
